An active instrumentalist and member of the Syracuse Local 78 AFM, she has performed with B Sharp Music Club, Brighton Symphony, Greece Symphony, the Eastman Graduate Conducting Orchestra, and OSSIA New Music Ensemble, in addition to various chamber groups and student recitals. She has performed numerous regional theatre productions at Blackfriars Theatre (Spamalot, Jerry’s Girls, Guys and Dolls, Avenue Q, Rocky Horror) and JCC Centerstage (Ragtime, Indecent).
Elissa continues advanced studies in conducting; with opportunity to work with acclaimed directors in the industry including Dr. Mallory Thompson, Dr. Daniel Cook, Marin Alsop, Karen Ní Bhroín, Cln. Jason Fettig, Dr. Thomas Gamboa, Dr. Mark Davis Scatterday, Dr. Andrea Brown, and Michael Haithcock.
Elissa holds her Master’s in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music and dual undergraduate degrees in Flute Performance and Arts Leadership from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. She currently directs elementary band for the Whitesboro Central School District and continues to present research on topics in music education at national conferences including NAfME and Eastman’s Context Conference.
